“Kevin, a calamity will fall upon you soon. Do you understand what it means?” asked Kevin’s guardian god who held the position of fire.
“Yes I do,” said Kevin.
“If you do know what it means then you are allow to go.”
Kevin left his guardian’s room and went to have some fresh air at Black Pearl Mountain. No. fresh air is just an excuse. The real reason was because of her, the snow fox goddess. Her smile somehow comforts him. Dewdrop is her name.
Judging at the time, she must be at the garden again. His verdict was right. She was in the four season garden. The four season garden has different kinds of plants that are from four different seasons. On the north are winter plants, east is fall, south is summer and west is spring. When he saw her, his trouble mind eased. He knew the reason. He loves her. But there is a boundary between them. He was a god from heaven while she was a goddess from the mountain. Their love can never be recognized.
After watching her from a corner for a while, he left. Watching her will be enough to him. Kevin was not a greedy person. Her shiny and happy face will be enough for him. He must not overstep the boundary. He never thought that she might be in love with her too and that they will never had a chance to chat. He thought that his love for her will forever be like this; just watching her from afar.
He was wrong. Things change drastically on the day of his calamity. She came to save him. He was happy but at the same time angry for her action. He hid his love and care for her for he do not want her to be punished by the jade emperor. He knew that she thought that all immortals from heaven are cold hearted; the immortals from the mountain have the same thought. Who knows where this idea came from?
When he found out that she loves him too, he almost jumped with joy but he controlled himself. She must not know. Then her request froze his heart. She wished him to erase her love towards him. she wished him to lock her ability to love someone. A foreign feeling came into his heart but he pushed it away.
“I…will help you,” said Kevin expressionlessly. No one knew how his heart struggle at that time but still he done it. He withdrew the loveless pearl from his body and planted it in her body.
“When you wake up, you will forget the love you have towards me. You will forget about me too and you never will fall in love again. Now sleep.”
He took her back to her home and placed her in her bed. He looked at her, his gaze filled with love and pain. He touched her cheek for a while. This will be the last time he can touch her. He kissed her forehead and whispered, “I wish for your happiness, dewdrop.” A last look, trying to imprint her sleeping face into his mind, he left.
Three hundred years later.
Two girls was playing at the flower garden, running and laughing, enjoying the pretty, sunny day. The girl was dewdrop and her friend. They ran passed an immortal and never once did dewdrop looked back. The immortal stopped his pace and looked at dewdrop cheery face, his face expressionless but if you looked closely, you can see his lips curving up
