Mixer: chapter 8

Chapter 8: the dream. new friends

“Acacia, Acacia,” I can hear someone whisper my name. The voice sounds like a man voice.
“Acacia, the time has come,” says the man gently. “Open your eyes Acacia.”
I open my eyes and sees that I am not in my room. “Where is this?”
“The man chuckle and says, “In your dream Acacia.”
“If this is my dream how did you come in? Who and what are you anyway?”
Once again he chuckle, which makes me want to strangle him. I can’t see his face so well because he is surrounded by silhouette.
“Acacia, you are so extraordinary,” he says to me.
“I’ll take that as a compliment,” my answer once again makes him laugh. “So what do you want from me?”
“Acacia,” he suddenly sounds so serious, “the time has come. You must find a way to unlock your magic.”
“I don’t know how to unlock it.” I say to him helplessly. “Tell me how.”
“You will know soon. The answer will fall upon you on the night of the full moon,” after saying that, he disappears and I wake up from the dream. It’s 6am in the morning, time for me to prepare myself for school.
                                ****                                     *****                                   *****                   ****
When I arrive school, Loren is waiting for me. He gives me a form for application of library card. We wanted to talk a bit more but Loren has basketball practice. As I walks into my classroom, it turns out today is my cleaning duty. None of the girls and boys is doing their duty. I grab the broom and start sweeping the floor. Not long after I start sweeping the floor, two girls join me. Both of them have long blond hair and nice look.
“Hi, my name is Melissa and this is Fiona,” Melissa says to me when I am looking at them. “We saw you doing the duty yourself so we think of helping you out.”
“Thank you but I don’t want to trouble you,” I say to her.
“It’s ok, we don’t mind at all,” says Fiona. “Let’s start!”
It takes only five minute to clean the floor and I give them a grateful smile. Melissa and Fiona starts talking with me that I soon notice that they want to be my friend.
“So, are we friends Acacia?” asks Fiona.
“What do you think?” I counter back.
They stare at me with confusion as I am not smiling. Then I finally can’t hold my grin, “If I don’t want to be friends with you then I won’t be standing here talking with you.”
They laugh and squeeze me tightly, which nearly knock away my breath. In my first and second lesson I realize that they are my classmates, such a coincidence. Since I have made another two friends, I gave up the idea of having a low profile and vow to have a great time.
I hang out with them during lunch time and when Loren joins our table for a while the girls are frozen on the spot. It is funny to watch their reaction. They fire a lot of questions at me after Loren went to join his group.
“Acacia, what kind of relationship do you have with Loren?” asks Melissa to me.
Before I have the chance to answer Fiona fire another questions, “Are you guys dating? Since when? How do you guys meet?”
“Whoa, one at a time, please. We are not in that kind of relationship and we are friends, normal friends. As for how do we meet…?”
I stop and look at them. They urge me to continue and I laugh, “You can say a book led us, leading us to meet each other. That’s all there is.”
They look at me with disbelief. “Girls, it’s true. If you don’t believe me go ask Loren.”
I watch them laugh. They remind me a lot of my human friends, Jane and May. How I miss them. I wonder how they are right now.
“Acacia?? Hello! Back to earth please,” says Melissa while waving her hand in front of me, “Something bother you?”
I shake my head and says, “You two remind me of someone, someone who I miss and will treasure forever.”
Melissa and Fiona look at each other for a moment and says in unison, “Is the someone you treasure human?”
“Don’t tell me you despise humans,” I say to them
“No we don’t despise them but it is best if you don’t say that again,” says Fiona. “I don’t want you to get into trouble.”
Notice the seriousness in her tone I ask, “Why is it? Will something happen if I say that I don’t despise human?”
“You will be in the black list of the Black club. They despise human. I heard that their leader had killed a couple of human before and also those who like human.”
“That sounds bad,” I say to them.  Here’s the bell. I’m going now so see you girls.”
“Remember our warning Acacia. We don’t want you to be in danger.” Says Melissa as we separate. I wave to them and head for the library, as I have promised Loren to hang out with him in the library. I don't know why but i have a bed feeling about going to the library. I hope it's just my delusion.
